Native Nations Cross Cultural Exchange between Tangata Moemoea Rangatahi from Australia to Aotearoa, New Zealand September

"Whakarōpūngia mai te whānau taketake o Ahitereiria ki tō tātou whenua whakahirahira o Aotearoa"

Travel Ed in collaboration with Tourism BOP and Kohutapu Lodge were privileged to join with other Māori tourism operators to host the inaugural Native Nations programme bringing indigenous youth together to experience eachothers customs, history and cultures.

The tāngata moemoea from Australia showed their respect at Pukehinahina (Gate Pā) by doing a traditional dance on the platform at the top after the historical kōrero from Les, our local Māori guide. Their struggles at home connected with what happened at this battle site.
